It is the age of
cricket leagues and yet one more tournament is about to take the globe by a
storm, the European Cricket League (ECL).
The European Cricket
League are played between July 29th to July 31st in a
European country. The league has adopted the T10 format and can compete over 3
days. This cricket carnival aims to popularize the game in Europe and hence is
regular to deliver fascinating entertainment.
European Cricket League
2019 can feature sides from Dreux (France), Rotterdam (The Netherlands),
Svanholm (Denmark), Bremen (Germany), St. Petersburg (Russia), Brescia (Italy)
and Cluj (Romania). Players from 18 completely different nations can
participate from all over Europe similarly as some ancient cricket-playing
nations.
All the matches will
compete at the La Manga Club with the domestic champions of Denmark, France,
Germany, Italy, Kingdom of The Netherlands, Romania, Russia, and European
country Spain for the possibility to be topped as continental Europe club
cricket’s ‘Kings of Europe’.
All the groups are
split into 2 teams of 4. Matches will compete on a round-robin basis. The top 2
sides from every group will advance forward to play one another in the
semi-finals and final.
Total 17 matches will
compete during this tournament and eight groups can battle with one another to
become the continental Europe club cricket’s ‘Kings of Europe’.
